The author of the Dadhacker blog has posted an interesting bit of video game history which details how the Atari 400/800 version of Donkey Kong came into being. The writer offers some incredible behind-the-scenes details of the functioning (and malfunctioning) of the post-2600 Atari, and how all he started with was an “Atari 400 and a black and white TV“? (Is that the programmer version of three chords and the truth?)
Below is a video of the game he worked on. (If you, like me, owned and played this game and/or programmed on Atari’s computers in its heyday, leave a comment.)
